Georgia born Mackenzie Scott aka Torres may have grown up listening to 90s pop county songs, but the singer's musical roots go far deeper than that, wooing audiences with her dark, country/indie sounds.

With a nod to her Baptist upbringing, the musician often took to the stage as a teenager, singing praise songs in her youth group and performing in nursing homes to cheer up the residents. With a clear idea about her future, Scott taught herself guitar and graduated from Belmont University as a songwriting major. With fans including Sharon Van Etten and backed by the likes of Pitchfork, Uncut and The Guardian, the 24 year old's star is on the rise. Since working with PJ Harvey’s producer Rob Ellis on her second studio album Sprinter (which was released in May 2015), Torres has been high in demand – her US tour is set to kick off May 11 and she flies to European shores to perform at the UK's End of the Road 2015 festival and Barcelona's Primavera Sound.
